So, here it goes, the mandatory after-production post.
Well, technically speaking, there really isn't much to describe about the entire
'stubby' experience in just a blog post. Its really more about the excitement, joy, several feelings, ( especially that of being on drugs ) and the general bonding experience. But, oh whatever, i will attempt to, anyway.
There's somethings that i'll always miss, ( near, far, wherever you are ), such as the general highness of LD, time-traveling back to our childhood with games like zombie apocalypse, The streets of Amsterdam, Transvestites in Thailand, What time is it Mr. Hippopotamus and everyone's favourite, Transvestite apocalypse in the drug-dealing streets of Amsterdam with Mr. Hippopotamus as guest star.
Of course, there were variations as well, more or less the same, provided generously by claire, such as lesbians in Latvia, Wontons in Warsaw, Vampires in Venice, and
Momotaro in Malaysia. with his faithful sidekick, kristaps.
And then, there were the extremely insane conversations, involving mainly the seniors, especially the Mellisa's ( well, one of them, anyway. ) proclamation of their sexuality, curly hair, Jif, magic mushrooms, drugs, guitars and country music, having an overdose of jellybeans ( especially that horrible cinnamon and butter popcorn flavoured ones ), getting high on hair mousse, starbucks, late night suppers in Macdonald's,more magic mushrooms and of course, start wearing purple. That I will never forget.
Things which simply make LD, LD. ( No, not Latvia dominates. ) ;
People hiding so as to avoid becoming sober, riding on AND in computer trolleys. ( not to mention through, in Ashima's case. ) , Melly taking her pants off, in full view of the sec ones. Lintong taking Melly's pants off. Lintong Ordering juniors to take off Melly's pants. Carrying out a very exaggerated imitation of Jaychou repeatedly singing " why did you kill my mother ", complete, with hand and face actions. ( and off-key singing ) , being high and going wheeeeeeee, simply for the sake of it. Character runs. Titanic.
There was more, but I forget easily.
The day itself was most definitely thrilling, with almost-close to fullhouse ( yay god answered our much pleading calls. ), people laughing at all the right places ( especially at amigo's expressions and dialogue and Christopher's , er , Christopherness. ) , the yummy popcorn ( 100% sweet. Not 70% salty, 30% sweet. sadly ), the great technicalities, roses, jacks, PRC scholars with their oh-so-sweet and touching notes, more roses, the wonderful program booklet, brilliant costumes and sets, and of course, the performance itself, which was at its best, lovely,engaging and really quite funny.
I think I should stop now, because there really isn't much you can talk about to put into words, maybe i'll post again later, about farewell, but till then, i suppose there's one thing we all feel right now....
Stubs, was just so ( freaking ) awesome, no?Labels: LD
